Michael David Leslie Johnson

The Johnson Laboratory specializes in understanding how bacteria process toxic metals such as copper. Recently, we have found a novel compound that synergizes with copper to act in an antimicrobial capacity in culture, and reduce bacterial burden in the animal models. With support from Tech Launch Arizona, we have begun derivatizing this compound to make more novel therapeutics with preliminary success.
