VK Viswanathan

Associate Professor, School of Animal and Comparative Biomedical Sciences

The Viswanathan laboratory is focused on elucidating the mechanistic basis of enteric pathogen interaction(s) with the mammalian intestine. Current research projects are focused on Enteropathogenic and Enterohemorrhagic E. coli, Salmonella enterica and Clostridium difficile. Molecular biology, biochemistry, omics, microscopy and in vivo approaches are utilized to dissect host responses to infection, and to rationally identify targets for future amelioration of disease.
